Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis Speak Out Against Chris Noth's Sexual Assault Accusers
Sex and the City stars break the silence
Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, who co-starred with Chris Noth in Sex and the City, have responded to the sexual assault claims against him, expressing their solidarity for the women who revealed “their painful experiences.”
The actors said in a joint statement uploaded to the three women's social media profiles on Monday,“We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do and we commend them for it.”
The Hollywood Reporter released a story last Thursday about two women who accused Noth of sexual assault. The first occurrence occurred in Los Angeles in 2004, and the second in New York in 2015. The two women who spoke with THR didn't know one other and contacted the publication independently, but they both said they were triggered by watching Noth repeat his role as Mr. Big in And Just Like That.
In a statement, Noth refuted the charges, writing: “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false. These stories could’ve been from 30 years ago or 30 days ago — no always means no — that is a line I did not cross. The encounters were consensual. It’s difficult not to question the timing of these stories coming out. I don’t know for certain why they are surfacing now, but I do know this: I did not assault these women.”
Following the THR piece, The Daily Beast published a story from a woman who claimed Noth sexually assaulted her in 2010. The source was told by Noth's PR that he “denies this as ever happening and has no idea who this woman is.”
Peloton withdrew the actor's popular commercial as soon as the charges were made public. On Friday, Noth's talent agency, A3 Artists Agency, stated that it would no longer represent him. He was also fired from his part on the CBS series The Equalizer on Monday.
